B2B Tip #99 - Web Site Traffic Tips

"The Real Truth About Web Site Traffic"

Let's get this straight right out of the gate ...

Most free traffic scams and schemes are crap. They're for selling - not using - because the vast majority of them *DO NOT WORK.*

I repeat.

"THEY DO NOT WORK!"

The only person who makes any money is the rip-off artist who sold the 'guaranteed' program to YOU.

* The vast majority of traffic exchanges are pure crap.

* The vast majority of co-reg programs usually don't work.

So what DOES work?

Keyword research works. Invest your time making your site responsive to what people are already actually searching for - NOT what YOU think makes sense.

But you MUST use the right keywords or your efforts are 100% in vain.

Go to Overture.com and use its free tools. This is plenty to get you started and going. You can always buy expensive tools or services later. Save your money upfront.

Writing articles works. They establish you as an expert in your field and the search engines typically love them. So write some articles and post them in your blog.

(Don't know how to set up your own free blog? Go to http://www.free-targeted-traffic.com/ and get your 100% free report that will have you posting to your own blog in less than 5 minutes after you get your free report.)

In other words - blogs also work.

Really well.

JVs work. They are based 100% on relationships - and nothing else. Joint ventures are never based on products. They are always based on relationships. Not only do you get access to someone else's list - you also get access to their credibility. Invest proper effort in building solid, long-term relationships.

Ezines work when they are specifically targeted to a tight niche of people interested in a specific topic. Broad-based ezines might get subscribers, but the people don't typically buy much because your 'message to market match' is so diluted.

And the king of web site traffic is great copywriting.

Why?

If your copy is terrible, you'll have the wrong keywords, no compelling reason for people to follow you, no reasonable call-to-action your visitors will do, etc.

So your main goals should involve making your web site very attractive to people and search engines, and making your copy do what copy should do - make people take action.

Master just these two areas, and you're well on your way.
