This B2B post is necessarly short because it's simple - yet profound ... and it's 'general' - yet very specific.

To reach your B2B or B2C target market - your copywriting has to 'speak their language' and be appropriate for their needs, wants, and desires. And it has to be timed right, too. And it has to be priced right.

And ... and ... and ...

Lots of people could figure this out by themselves if asked ... and some will even say, "I already know that."

But it's absolutely amazing that so few marketers practice this procedure. And there is nothing else that so profoundly affects conversion.

Period.

If I want to buy an icemaker, and all you talk about is golf clubs - or (Heaven forbid) yourself - how many sets of golf clubs will I buy that will make the ice I need?

Hint: ZERO (or very, very close to zero) ...

You might think I'm exaggerating ... but I'm not. Perhaps your own example is not so drastic ... but if you don't know what's swirling around in your reader's or listener's mind - you're shooting in the dark and praying you hit something.

Not an efficient message to market match, for sure.
